Crafty Tuesday

Welcome to Crafty Tuesday!  Crafty Tuesday is to share with others your craftiness, either with things you have made (craftiness or caking because that’s crafty too!) little ideas on fun things with the kids or something cute you have found that you would like to make!  Please feel free to link up and take the button in the sidebar on the right hand side!  Thanks!!!

I heard of these really gorgeous crochet beaded necklaces from The Crochet Crowd and I thought they sounded really pretty.  I had never seen them before either but decided to go and google it and see what I came up with.  I just clicked the first one that had a video.
On  FB page he was talking about them again and this very talented lady, Stephanie Dixon commented on it too.  She makes some GORGEOUS ones!!!  She has her own site for supplies too! Here is her other FB page. The Dixon Chick and her blog…The Dixon Chick

I think mine turned out pretty well but nothing compared to hers.  I got a few supplies this weekend but of course everything I wanted was so expensive! (well just more than I want to pay)  For the necklace you need 47 beads at least but you could use more.  I need to look and find some other way of doing it because when you start buying the really pretty glass and crystal beads then it starts getting really expensive!

My first attempt I just used the only wire I could find at Wal-Mart (only place we have available in our tiny town) and it wasn’t really very thick, really really thin, it worked alright but when it came time to finish it off then it wouldn’t wrap around and stay.  That was the frustrating part.  I finally just tied it in a knot and put crazy glue on it to hope it stayed. lol

Went to Hobby Lobby and got some wire over the weekend.  They had the Artistic Wire at Hobby Lobby.  It was $6 for 15 yards.  I am almost out of that now!  Hoping to get back to Hobby Lobby this weekend or check out The Dixon Chick and see what she has.  I haven’t had a lot of time to check it out although I did sit and drool over her gorgeous necklaces she had on FB.  Just beautiful.  She is VERY talented!

My very first one with the thin wire. Still pretty but not as pretty as the other!

My set I did with the copper wire.  I love this set and the colors are so pretty!!!  Sorry, I was just happy with how it came out.  Not bad for only my second set.  Hoping to get better soon.  There are so many ways you can play with it too so the possibilities are endless!!

Hey those turned out great. They look complicated. Does it make your fingers cramp?
