Welcome to Crafty Tuesday!  Crafty Tuesday is to share with others your craftiness, either with things you have made (craftiness or baking because that’s crafty too!) little ideas on fun things with the kids or something cute you have found that you would like to make!  Please feel free to link up and take the button from the pages above!  Thanks!!!
So of course we had some left over Easter egg dye and I actually had a white shirt for Maddie so we decided to tie dye it.  I think it turned out pretty well but stupid me didn’t let it dry, thinking you were supposed to rinse and wash it then dry it, and it just all went away.  Sad smile  I hadn’t tie dyed anything in years!
We had some extra colors and I decided to try again.  This time around it wasn’t quite as pretty since it wasn’t exactly the same colors.  Oh well, it’s still pretty.  Hoping this time it will work out right!  Going to let it dry and then maybe put in the dryer or just iron it to set the colors.
First here is our crazy colored eggs.  Not sure what happened but I kinda like ‘em like this.

Then she wanted to try to dye some rocks.  Yeah, that didn’t work out very well.

Think this will be a summer project again too, but with actual dye not egg dye.

Hi there everyone!  Hope you have all been doing well.  With today being Valentine’s Day and Maddie having a party at school I realized she didn’t even have a Valentine shirt to wear so we made one up real quick.  I just used some heat and bond and cute out some cute colorful hearts to add to a red shirt she has had for about 2 years but never really worn.  She helped me pick out the material to use and then helped place them on the shirt.  She wanted a lot of them and I was worried it wasn’t going to come out cute and be too busy but it wasn’t.  It turned out cute!!  Now I am debating stitching around them to really secure them or just letting it go for now.  She’ll wear it to school today without the stitching and then after I wash it we’ll just wait and see…

so.. what have you all been making?

This time I am doing a cookie recipe.  It is my favorite Snickerdoodle recipe.  It’s from Gifts in a Jar: Cookies by G & R Publishing

Sorry I don’t have any pictures of the cookies, I will be making them later on this afternoon.  I made the dough up last night.. with a little help from an elf.. but probably not the little elf you are all thinking of!  I’ll explain at the end.  Smile

Snickerdoodle Cookies
Cook at 375*F for about 10-15 min or until light tan. Makes 4 to 5 dozen cookies!

1 C. butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 C. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
2 tsp. cream of tartar
2 3/4 C. all-purpose flour

to roll the cookie balls in
1/2 C. sugar
1 TBS cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 375*F.  In a large bowl, cream the butter until light, add the eggs and beat, until the mixture is smooth.  Add the dry ingredients and continue to beat until the dough begins to form.  Combine the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl.  Shape the dough into 1-inch balls and roll in the cinnamon-sugar blend.  Arrange on a ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 10-15 min or until light tan.  Transfer to wire racks to cool.

Enjoy!  These make the best yummy and soft cookies!!

Ok.. so, Mad knew I was going to be making cookies for the party at the library on Wednesday, but I like to make my dough usually the night before I bake them, like to chill them and then bake them.  So.. last night after she went to bed I decided I needed to go ahead and make the dough so this afternoon all we had to do is roll them in the cinnamon-sugar blend and bake them.  We are kind of running out of ideas for the her little Elf to do so I found an old baby bowl, a tiny spatula and added some of the dough to the bowl then kind of sprinkled a little flour on the elf.  Not much because I don’t want to have to clean her that much.

Anywho… I put a little of the dough in the bowl, I put that in the freezer and before I went to bed I set it out so that in the morning, if she wanted it she could eat it and it wouldn’t be icky from sitting out so long!  And yes, I know…. cookie dough for breakfast?  It’s not that much, and plus, she’s going to school and I won’t have to deal with her being hyper!  Winking smile
(even though I froze it, it was such a small amount it was still icky this morning.. thankfully I had enough time before she got up to put fresh in)

I have been seeing these arm warmers all over!  Especially on Pinterest.  I decided to make a couple for Mad.  She has a ton of cute short sleeve shirts and this is a great way for her to be able to wear them even when it’s colder out.

I used this tute here at Brassy Apple.  She always has a ton of cute stuff!  I loved them and so did Mad so I decided to give it a go.  They turned out pretty cute!  Now I just need to find some more because I think she will need several pair.  You know.. a pair in every color and funky design! Winking smile

Here’s a couple pics of hers.

I can’t remember but I think it was a couple of years ago we were searching for some Halloween masks to print up and make.  Most of you know my daughter loves cats and loves to even crawl around like them and sometimes licks herself like a cat… yeah.. still, at almost 5, she will lick herself!

Anyway.. here is a pic of the mask we made, and honestly I thought it was long gone, but Mad came out of her room with it one morning and insisted on wearing it to school.  So… for the past few weeks, at least once a week, she will wear it to school and then have me bring it home.  She’s a silly one!

178/365 Flower Potholder

A while back I saw this gorgeous potholder on Pinterest.  The one I repinned was in a different language and I tried to translate it but it still came out crazy.  I finally found this one and gave it a try.  Now, mine’s not as pretty but I still think its beautiful!  I really like the design and think it would be cute to make it again but make it into a purse or Mad (or myself Smile ). So.. one of these days I will get to making the purse!

Here’s a few more I found that I would love to try!  The Hexagon one just might be next!  I still have a few hexagons left over from the Hexy Bag I made a while back… just waiting for me to do something with them!

just click the pictures for the pattern, they are all from the same blog.  She has some great stuff!

Haven’t been doing much lately besides trying to keep this house clean, reorganizing stuff and cleaning out Maddie’s room..when she doesn’t through a fit about it.  She has sooooo much stuff and is running out of room!  I am so worried about what all she will get for Christmas and then her Birthday a week and a half later.

Anyways… here is a cute little garland we made today.  I hurried up and traced Shane’s hand before he left for work, did mine and then when Maddie came home from school we did hers and then she colored them.  Then we added google eyes, the beak and the snood.  She had fun!  Then we hung it under our little shelf.

Turned out pretty cute!

A little late posting this today but at least its here…
Haven’t been doing much lately besides the norm.

Here’s a little peek at what I have been doing… my hubby is calling me an old lady now!  lol

I am not much of an embroiderer but I am slowly learning.  It’s kind of addictive and therapeutic too.  Love hearing the pop of the needle go through and the sliding of the thread as it goes through the material on the hoop!  I have so many I want to do and not enough time in between crocheting and everything else.

This is what I am doing with some of the ones I am making.

They are doing pretty well at the Coffee Shop though so I guess they are good enough! lol

Sooo.... what are you doing?
