Well on Monday night we got a ton of snow.  It’s the coldest weather OK has had since 1989!  And right now as I type my computer says it is –2 out!  Brrrr!!!  We got about 10 inches of snow where we live but some parts of the state got almost 21 inches!  Pretty much the whole state was shut down on Tuesday.   The roads still aren’t cleared off yet and they keep advising everyone to stay inside and to not travel.  Shane went ahead and went to work yesterday for a bit and he said some places were alright and then others were pretty bad.  Of course where they plowed any business driveway they were almost blocked with the snow they plowed from the street!  It’s just a mess right now!

Since we have been snowed in we haven’t been doing too much except laying in bed and watching the weather all snuggled up together.  We’ve been doing some baking too.  Made homemade pizza yesterday (turkey sausage and ham) and some very yummy Who Bread.  I was going to make Sandra’s Simple White Bread but then I saw her Who Bread and remembered I was going to try that a while back so that is what we made yesterday.  It was delicious!!

Maddie decided to go out and play in the snow on Wednesday.  It was so cold!!  At least it had stopped snowing by then and the wind wasn’t blowing like the day before but it was still VERY cold!  We were only out for about 10 min each time.  Here’s a few pictures for ya.  She just kept rolling around yelling, “I love this snow!”

and of course she had to eat some icicles too.  Might have to make some snow ice cream today!  Yum!

and the funny thing is that Shane remembered to put up his windshield wipers but the van didn’t have a drop of snow on it!  and he didn’t have to go to work either because most the roads were closed anyways…

I knew the trash wouldn’t show up but we took it out anyways because when they do show up I don’t want to have to try to pull it over all that snow!  Looks like the neighbors had the same idea!

I finally took some pictures of Maddie for her 4 year pics.  I thought I had gotten some really good ones inside but I am still not used to the settings on this new camera.  I don’t have as many options as the old one and they looked good on the camera but once I put them on the computer they were so grey and dull.    I’ll get it one of these days.  The outside ones of course still look pretty good though.  Here’s some of the ones I took yesterday.

 

 

 

My lil’ Angel

For the past few years, since Maddie was almost 1 we have been making these little angels with her hands and feet and a photo.  I can’t believe how big her hands and her feet have gotten!  It was nice finding the older ones we did when I got things out for the tree and remembered we hadn’t made one yet for this year so we made a new one.  Here a few pictures of her little angels.  She is born in January so the first one we did she was just a month shy of being one year.  They are so cute!! 

We just traced her foot and her hands, cut them out and then used glitter glue to rub glue all over them and then glued them together.  Picked out a photo with a decent size of her face and then printed it out and cut that out to add to it.  These will be great to look back on.  Not sure how many more years we will do it but I will try to continue to do them for as long as she will let me! 

 

Oh and the little red ornament in the top left hand side was from when she was 1 or 2, so bad I can’t remember, but we just painted her hand white and kinda wrapped her hand around it and then used a permanent marker to add eyes and a mough to make it look like snowmen. 

Homemade Crackers

Pin It I am always in need of crackers but never remember to get any or Maddie eats them all.  I decided to do a search for them so off to my beloved google I went.  This is the link for the ones I decided to do.  How To Make Crackers from Scratch There are several recipes on this site.  I did the caraway recipe but… I didn’t have rye flour or caraway seeds.  I just mainly used it as a base and added some Italian seasoning, garlic powder and onion powder.  Maddie had a great time helping me with them. 
I just did another search for home made crackers and have found a lot of great ones!  This is the one I want to try next.. Cheddar Crackers
  
  


and for someone that said she didn’t like them she sure did beg for them all day and then begged for more the next day too!  Silly girl!

Story TIme Halloween Party

OK, so this post is gonna be short of words but full of pictures!!  Ms. Mad went to the Story Time Halloween Party yesterday and had a blast!!   Then yesterday evening we went to a friends church for their Fall Festival!  She had a blast!!!

Pin It Maddie and I have been cleaning up the craft area and some of her other stuff and she found a green lei she had.  She was so happy she found it but then she played with it until she ripped it apart!  I swear she should have been a boy as since she is always tearing things up!!
The pieces of the lei on the floor gave me the idea to make her a little fish bowl.  I just cut it out of some foam we had and then used some, as she calls them, 'under the sea' stickers. It turned out pretty cute! Now she wants to watch Nemo but I can't find the darn thing! So glad we got Netflix and can watch it instantly!
