Look what I found on the porch yesterday!
Sunday I went to see my dad and step-mom. Cathy had showed me her newest crochet project she was doing, using the hooks above. They are called afghan crochet hooks or Tunisian hooks. You do an afghan stitch that looks similar to knitting. Since I have tried knitting several times, I just couldn’t get it down, I thought this would be an easy way to do it!
I decided to take a little break from crocheting Thursday until I found these on the porch. (and I just ordered them on Tuesday!) I had to try them out!! So, I am just playing around and have started a dishrag and also a scarf. Now remember this is really the first time I have been doing this stitch beside the 3 or 4 rows I did at Cathy’s. Here’s a little look at what I am doing.
I also want to say thank you Cathy for getting these for me as a very early birthday gift!!
front of dishrag (and yes it kinda curls but will straighten out once you finish it)
the back of the dishrag
The scarf I am starting… this is the front side
the back side
so I will have to force myself to put these down and finish up the granny square blanket and then I can start on an afghan using this stitch! Wooo whooo!! I can’t wait!!

Wow cool! I have seen those before but didn't really get what they do. Have fun!
