Memory Lane Friday's

Ok, this is my first time doing the Memory Lane Friday's.  I got it from a fellow blogger at Two Bears Farm.  Mine won't be nearly as interesting or well written as everyone else's though.
The theme for this week is
'A Time I was Scared'

We went to visit my Aunt and Uncle and stayed fairly late.  I can't even remember how old I was, probably 8 or 9 years old, they were watching a movie so my brother and I watched it too.

The movie was Poltergeist.  I think that was the first scary movie I had ever seen.   I am surprised we got to watch it since they didn't allow us to watch that stuff.
I know it wasn't my last but it was my last for awhile.  It really freaked me out and I really didn't want to sleep by myself for awhile after that.

Like I had said this was a long time ago and unfortunately I don't have the best memory anymore.  The only thing I can remember is that movie is what made me freak out anytime my closet door was open and it was time to go to bed and the bush outside my window really scared me too because it was constantly scratching on my window like that tree that tried to eat the boy. I was also afraid of what might be under my bed, and didn't really want to look because I didn't want to find that nasty clown! (I still don't really like clowns, they freak me out with that crazy face paint!)  Anytime I used to go to the bathroom I would always kick the shower curtain and open it really fast to make sure nothing was in there.  (although I can't really remember anything like that in the movie)

I finally got over that about the time I got to go stay with my best friend and she had Nightmare on Elmstreet and that movie really scared the crap out of me too!!!  Had problems going to sleep for awhile after that one too but of course we all know you weren't supposed to sleep anyways because Freddy would get you if you did!  I was prob in Jr. High when we watched this one but we weren't allowed to watch scary movies or violent stuff, I was a little sheltered and got scared very easily.

So that is my lame story about 'The Time I was Scared'  I have set here since yesterday trying to come up with something from my childhood that scared me and this is the only thing I could think of.   That's either a good thing or a really sad thing.  lol

Welcome to Memory Lane Fridays, thanks for playing :-) I never saw Poltergeist (but I had a best friend who was terrified of clowns because of it). I did see Nightmare on Elm Street at a sleepover though, and it was pretty scary for a preteen. I never watch horror movies now - how about you?

Glad to join! At least now I know I will have something to write about on Friday!

Glad to know I wasn't the only one it scared! Depends on what type of scary movie. Some I still don't like that much and I def don't like the really gory ones. Those are just sick, I can't watch them.

Watching IT was a stretch even when I was older because that clown really freaked me out!!! That's another reason I still don't care much for clowns.

Yep, I can understand why you'd be afraid of that bush outside your window, and clowns and all the other stuff. Poltergeist was pretty creepy. Now Nightmare on Elm Street - I have never seen it because it always seemed way too scary for me! There are some scary movies I can watch, but others? No way.
