Grandma Barbara's Oatmeal Rolls!!

Pin It This will be my first ever tutorial so bare with me!! I tried to take pictures throughout every step I did but you know how it goes sometimes.... I hope this will make sense!  These are the ones I mentioned on Monday in my HHM post.

Getting things ready... Gotta have the recipe, great way to hold it!!

Also gotta have my coffee..  Yep that's my coffee cup!  Forget those little cups!

G'ma Barbara's Oatmeal rolls

1 1/2 Cups Old fashioned oats
1/4 cup oleo
2/3 Cups brown sugar
2 teaspoons salt
(G'ma's tip)
Set this part out in a covered bowl overnight
then all you have to do was boil the water and pour!

Put the above in a large bowl and cover with 3 cups of boiling water, stir gently.

Cool to room temperatuure and add 2 pkgs. yeast (4 1/2 tsp.) in 1/3 cup warm water.

Add 5 1/2 to 7 cups flours. Add flour until fairly stiff.

Knead on floured board until fairly smooth.
 child labor =)

oh and don't forget to eat the flour.... um... yeah

Put dough into greased bowl and cover.

Let rise until double in bulk.

Shape into rolls and dip into melted oleo. Place on cookie sheet or cake pan (cake pan with make them a little better) and let rise until double in bulk.

Bake at 375 degrees for 15 - 17 minutes or until lightly browned.

Then enjoy!!  Add some butter, or spray butter which I sprayed on top on some of them, and then honey if you like 'em sweet!  YUM-O!!

Nice plate huh? =)

Thanks Camille! Yes you may! Just fly on over!!

Yeah, it's just a normal plastic cup! 90% of the time I drink it before it gets cold but then I just add a little more! lol

Didn't rain! Yea!

I make these every Thanksgiving. It's a tradition. They are sooooo good..I like the child labor~! Seems like children like to lick the flour and eat the dough...
It rained in Iowa ~ really needed it... Lots of Iowa Hawkeye fans are very sad today..they lost to Wisconsin...
