Seat Belt Pillow

Maddie saw those cute little Seat Pets on a commercial and of course she wanted one.  I didn’t feel like paying that price so I went to Pinterest to see what I could find.  I found a few cute seat belt pillow idea and decided to go with this one.

It’s not perfect but Maddie seems to really like it and it works well too.  She got to help pick out the material and as we were searching through my stash I came across some of her old crib sheets I had saved.  She picked out the OU sheets for me to use.  I was a little worried because it’s white but at least I can wash if need be.

I didn’t take pictures of the process but here’s the final project.

Earth Day Tissue Box Challenge- Monster Heads

So my good friend Lisa over at Two Bears Farm invited me to do a challenge for Earth Day.  I didn’t know about this challenge but it’s a very good idea.  You use items you would normally throw away or recycle, if your town has that.  I do that a lot because we love making cheap frugal crafts!

I actually had 2 tissue boxes and grabbed them real quick, got some cardstock, tape, glue, egg cartons and google eyes.  (because to Mad a craft project isn’t complete without google eyes!)

I didn’t get pictures of us during the process only the end.  You can use your imagination and make it as crazy as you would like!  We just used the cute design that was already on the tissue box.. simple!

Mad made a Cyclops and I did one with a bunch of teeth.  We had fun and she loves ‘feeding’ her monster!

As you can see the possibilities are monstrous!! (yeah.. just had to say it!)
Hope you all have fun!

Welcome to Crafty Tuesday!  Crafty Tuesday is to share with others your craftiness, either with things you have made (craftiness or baking because that’s crafty too!) little ideas on fun things with the kids or something cute you have found that you would like to make!  Please feel free to link up and take the button from the pages above!  Thanks!!!
So of course we had some left over Easter egg dye and I actually had a white shirt for Maddie so we decided to tie dye it.  I think it turned out pretty well but stupid me didn’t let it dry, thinking you were supposed to rinse and wash it then dry it, and it just all went away.  Sad smile  I hadn’t tie dyed anything in years!
We had some extra colors and I decided to try again.  This time around it wasn’t quite as pretty since it wasn’t exactly the same colors.  Oh well, it’s still pretty.  Hoping this time it will work out right!  Going to let it dry and then maybe put in the dryer or just iron it to set the colors.
First here is our crazy colored eggs.  Not sure what happened but I kinda like ‘em like this.

Then she wanted to try to dye some rocks.  Yeah, that didn’t work out very well.

Think this will be a summer project again too, but with actual dye not egg dye.

Crafty Tuesday 2
Crafty Tuesday is going to be a little different now.  If you want to join in feel free but I have been having problems with my linky tools and I am not going to be paying for them especially when my blog isn’t that big and only one person usually links up… so, if you would like to join in please leave a comment and I can just add your link at the bottom of the post.  Thanks!!!

Since I have been crocheting so much lately I always have these little ends left from sewing the projects together.  I just use an empty square kleenex container that I have by my chair to put them in.  I have seen some really cute projects done with those scraps.
Maddie was wanting to do something so I just cut some ‘grass’ out with felt and added it to a piece of cardstock that I had drawn a flower and a tree on.  She put glue on the tree and just added the yarn to that to make the leaves, and to the petals for the flowers.  Turned out pretty cute!!

Getting ready for Thanksgiving

Maddie and I have been doing a lot of crafting lately and getting some decorations for the family.  Every year we make hand turkeys for them so they can see how much she has grown over the year.  We made a pumpkin that has a pocket on to put the things she is thankful for in it and also made some fall trees.  We have also gotten the Jesse Tree finished, just have a few little extra’s to do on that and will be posting on that pretty soon for one of my Crafty Tuesday’s.  Here’s a few of the pictures of what we did on Wednesday.

I am thankful for… my family, love, books, church, beads, singing, toys, God, house and Jesus!  Great things to be thankful for!
