Liar, Liar, pants on Fire!

Pin It I know that most of us as parents are always doing our best to discourage our kids from lying to us or telling others lies.  But what about parents telling lies?  Last night we had to sprayed the yard with some bug killer stuff and before I made Maddie go in she asked Shane what kind of bugs does it kill.  He was reading, naming off a few, ticks, fleas, ants, spiders..... caterpillars..... "But caterpillars don't bite!!!"  Shane told her he would do a search and if he found any then he would move them before he sprayed.  Once Mad and I were inside, she started playing and then started freaking out because she saw Shane spraying and said he was supposed to move the caterpillars.  I told him he did before he started spraying and that all the ones he found he put in the garden.

There have been several other times we have told her some little white lies.  Times I tell her we can't go some where because they are closed, she can't play on that because it is broken.  Other little silly ones like that.  I still feel bad about 80% of the time =) but sometimes I think you have to lie to the kiddos to be able to keep your sanity a little bit!

Oh, I forgot to ask you if you are getting any heavy rain? Sorry I can't remember exactly where you are at, I'm in Guthrie and it's been raining off and on. Only about 5 in. here. Nothing like in Edmond though thank God! Hope you are washing away.
